SWR Varsity Cheerleading competed at the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, FL in early February. The team competed in 2 separate divisions at ESPN's Wide World of Sports in Disney. This was the first year that the team competed in the game day division. SWR has never moved on from the preliminary round in the past, but it was their main goal this year to score high enough to make it into the semi finals round. The team made it into semi finals on day 2 for the first time in program history. They proceeded to move on again to the final round after placing 2nd in semi finals with a score of 90.2. SWR Varsity Cheerleading took home 4th in the nation in the Medium Varsity NT D2 game day division after receiving their highest score to date -92.5.

The team is currently undefeated in the Large Varsity D2 category through Section XI. They have qualified for playoff seasons and will be competing in the Suffolk County Championships on Saturday, February 18th at 1:00pm at Newfield High School.
